Design Mentor for Shilpa Saviya -  A design development program facilitated by the National Crafts Council of Sri Lanka to provide a platform for traditional handicraftsmen to develop their knowledge, skills, and resources to transform them into entrepreneurs.

 

The program connected 26 traditional craftspeople from all around the country with experienced design mentors to work closely together and provide hands-on coaching to co-create novel handicrafts and equip the craftspeople with entrepreneurial skills that will allow them to operate their businesses independently while creating products that are contemporary and environmentally friendly.

I worked with 2 craftspeople throughout the program, one from the Batik industry and one from Stoneware ceramic industry.
