Sri Lanka is a country where its people have dealt with war, disaster, and all the challenges of a developing South-Asian country but has done it with grace and modesty. It’s a country home to many cultures, languages, and ethnicities living together in peace and harmony. This significant feature of unity was an inspiration for the collection ‘Unity in Diversity’ – a collection that carries various hand embroidered surface designs woven on to the clothing that creates beautiful textures using a variety of different color threads to represent different ethnicities in the island. The collection aims to illustrate how we can achieve wonderful things when we work together as one – A Sri Lanka of unity, a Sri Lanka populated by people who help one another irrespective of race or religion.
